Program Note:

'Isa' was written for the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival in Norfolk, Connecticut. The title refers to Mount Isa, the remote mining town in Queensland, Australia, where I wrote the piece. The music aims to evoke the austere landscape (movement I) and the creative vibrancy (movement II) of this unique place.
